Our Story. A family owned and operated business.
Founded by Henry Kraus, Today Latexpedic is
run by his son, Lloyd Kraus
During a business trip
through Europe in 1987, Henry
Kraus stopped at a small hotel in Switzerland. There he
discovered one of the most comfortable mattresses he had ever encountered. This
came as quite a surprise to him, as he had already been in the business of sleep
products for some years and had invented and assisted in the development of many
products.
After waking up "feeling wonderful", Henry Kraus decided he just had to stay
another night to see if it was really "this mattress or not". He decided
it was worth another night's stay. Again, he woke up feeling like he just had
the best night's sleep possible. He then soon discovered what was in this
mattress: latex foam.
He soon found out that there was one USA manufacturer that makes latex foam.
He soon ordered this latex foam, and upholstered the mattress, and branded it as
the Latexpedic Mattress. Soon the Latexpedic brand became the flagship
mattress for the Electropedic Adjustable Bed.
In 1992, the production of the Latexpedic Mattress was taken over by Henry Kraus's sons, Lloyd and Philip Kraus. Many innovations and refinements have been made over the years, especially the introduction of the 9" High Profile and THE ULTIMATE 11" Latex Mattress.
Each mattress continues to be made with the same old-style traditions and standards of excellence and craftsmanship: Today it seems that Latexpedic is one of the very few manufacturers that makes each mattress ALL latex (not half a mattress like most manufacturers today); and completely reversible, quilted on both sides, and each available in (4) four different firmnesses: Soft, Regular Firm, Extra Firm and Ultra Firm.
We are still dedicated to getting you the best night's sleep possible. We feel that we make each customer their own individual mattress depending on their needs. This is what we do.
We still continue to buy these Latex Cores from the same USA manufacturer: Talalay Global. The Talalay Process is recognized in the Mattress Industry to be the very best process in making Latex Foam: best durability, breathability, resiliency, pressure-relief, comfort and support. completely reversible, quilted on both sides; zipper or handles and come
in your choice of (4) four firmnesses: Soft, Regular Firm, Extra
Firm and Ultra Firm. Choose from Classic, Natural and Certified
Organic.
Latexpedic uses only pure, organic cotton grown from non-genetically
modified plants free of fertilisers or pesticides to ensure its
non-allergenic and suitable for customers who are sensitive to
